P4L3 F1R3 was a live work of experimental fiction posted in 12 parts to Tiktok over two weeks in June 2025. It followed an established content creator, Baptiste, as she tried to contact an afterlife — while, in turn, an obsessive young man tried to contact her. Viewers were led to believe the story was really happening, and were thus able to experience the conflicts in real time, interact with the characters, and even try to change the ending.

Over the course of P4L3 F1R3, Baptiste's follower count climbed to over twelve hundred, and the series itself reached over 15,000 views and 1,500 likes. Additionally, the account as a whole accumulated 100,000 views and 17,000 likes.

P4L3 F1R3 is a modern retelling of the classic novel Pale Fire, by Nabokov. It explores Nabokov's complex characters and meta-textual story structure through the lens of social media and fandom.

Beatrice has been living on her own for the past 10 years of her life — and she's only 16! That isolation is why she's willing to go to any length for the approval of her absent mother. It just so happens that her mom is the heroic figure of a post-apocalyptic world, and earning her praise means killing the deadly robots that plague America. She knows she can win this fight.

What she isn't prepared for is the possibility of making friends.
